V&E served as counsel to long-time client BMC Software, Inc., in its $300 million acquisition of Numara Software, a leading global provider of integrated IT management solutions for the mid-market.

The acquisition expands BMC’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business and IT management solutions for mid-sized organizations that typically have 500 to 5,000 employees. The combined strengths of BMC and Numara will reshape the IT management market, giving mid-sized and small businesses new choices and capabilities to manage IT in support of the changing needs of their business. The transaction, which is expected to close during BMC’s fiscal fourth quarter, is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

The team was led by V&E partner Wes Jones with assistance from partners John Lynch, Brian BloomBilly Vigdor, Cathy Lewis, Sean Becker, and Peter Mims. Associates who worked on the transaction include Rogan Giles, Lori Pickle, Steve Berneman, Lauren Barrows, Lina Dimachkieh, Jared Whalen, Martin Luff, and Erin Thomson.
