Jackson Walker L.L.P. achieved a victory for its client Redneck Pipe Rental Inc. in a case before the 284th Judicial District Court in Montgomery County, Texas, that involved a contract for the fabrication and sale of 100,000 feet of drill pipe.

On July 19, 2013, at the conclusion of a two-day bench trial, Judge Cara Wood entered a judgment in favor of Redneck Pipe, awarding the plaintiff $3.27 million in actual damages plus attorney’s fees of $317,450. The Court made this joint and several award against multiple defendants based on findings of fraud, conspiracy, and violation of the Texas Theft Liability Act. On the first day of trial, Judge Wood dismissed a counterclaim against the plaintiff.

Redneck Pipe Rental was represented by a Jackson Walker trial team led by Tim Leonard and including Mallory Beck and Matthew Cavenaugh. The successful result in this case demonstrates the expertise of Jackson Walker’s Energy Litigation practice, which has broad experience representing clients in arbitration proceedings and in federal and state courts throughout the country in virtually every kind of energy–related dispute.
