Jackson Walker successfully represented its client CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in reaching a long-term lease agreement to operate Atlanta Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Texas.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2013, Atlanta’s 65-bed hospital will begin operating under the name CHRISTUS St. Michael – Atlanta. The Atlanta Hospital Authority will continue to own the hospital, while CHRISTUS St. Michael will operate the facility under a 10-year lease agreement as another location of CHRISTUS St. Michael. This transaction will bringing exceptional quality of care to the small East Texas community and ensure the hospital’s stability for many years to come.

CHRISTUS St. Michael has served the Texarkana community since 1916 and was recently named one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals in the large community hospital category by Thomson Reuters. It is part of the CHRISTUS Health system, which includes 50 facilities in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Missouri, Georgia, and Mexico.
