Jackson Walker L.L.P. successfully represented its client, Associated Estates Realty Corp., in securing zoning for a luxury apartment complex it is developing near Turtle Creek in Dallas’ Oak Lawn neighborhood.

Ohio-based Associated Estates recently broke ground on the nine-story, 249-unit Cantabria apartment building, which was featured in an article in The Dallas Morning News. To read the story (subscription required), CLICK HERE.

Members of Jackson Walker’s Land Use & Municipal Law group helped Associated Estates successfully navigate every aspect of the zoning process, including resolving complex issues related to the development and meeting with neighborhood associations including the Oak Lawn Committee and a negotiating subcommittee of that committee. As a result of these efforts, Associated Estates was able to secure approval for a Planned Development Subdistrict within the Oak Lawn Special Purpose District.

Jackson Walker partners Jonathan Vinson and Susan Mead represented Associated Estates. Attorneys in the firm’s Land Use and Municipal Law practice group have broad experience and a high degree of success with securing appropriate zoning, addressing various issues as part of that process, and obtaining necessary approvals.
