On January 29, 2014, Rice Energy Inc. (NYSE: RICE) closed its $1.05 billion initial public offering of 50 million common shares at a price to the public of $21 per share.  RICE offered 30 million shares, while the selling stockholder — NGP Holdings — offered 20 million shares. The company won’t receive any proceeds from shares sold by NGP Holdings.
