Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Stacy Smith Brown has joined the Firm’s Houston office as Partner in the Oil and Gas Practice Group.

“Stacy is a seasoned lawyer whose in-depth offshore oil and gas experience and comprehensive understanding of the energy industry as a whole will enable the Firm to better serve our clients,” said Richard B. Hemingway, Jr., the Firm’s Oil and Gas Practice Group Leader. “We look forward to partnering with her to continue to take advantage of dynamic business opportunities in Houston and across the country.”

Brown focuses her practice on oil and gas matters, with an emphasis on BOEM regulations and contracts relating to the acquisition and operation of offshore oil and gas leases. She is a current member and past president of the Federal Energy Bar Association – New Orleans Chapter and also participates in the American Bar Association. In addition to her involvement in legal professional organizations, Brown serves as Treasurer for Kids Wanna Help® and as an Advisory Board Member for St. Scholastica Academy.

Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Brown was a Partner at Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux in New Orleans. She received a J.D. from Tulane School of Law in 1989 and a B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1986. She is admitted to practice law in Louisiana.
