The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Margaret B. Symonds has joined the Firm’s Houston office as Counsel in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Ms. Symonds previously served as a Partner with Bracewell Giuliani LLP as well as a consultant to an energy company.

“Margaret has more than 25 years of legal experience in an array of industries, including energy and hospitality,” said Wesley P. Williams, the Firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Leader. “Her experience in the midstream and downstream sectors will add even more depth to our corporate and energy practices. We welcome Margaret to the Firm and look forward to collaborating with her to serve both her long-time clients and our valued clients.”

Ms. Symonds focuses her practice on the representation of private and public companies in connection with acquisition and divestiture transactions as well as general corporate, finance, and securities matters. She has extensive experience representing clients in the energy industry, including the pipeline, terminal, transport, and retail sectors, as well as the hospitality industry.

Immediately prior to joining Thompson & Knight, she was in private practice advising clients in various downstream transactions. Ms. Symonds received a J.D., magna cum laude, from St. Mary’s University School of Law and a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University. She is a member of Phi Delta Phi as well as the American and Houston Bar Associations.
