The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Stephanie Dooley Nelson has joined the Firm’s Dallas office as Counsel in the Trial Practice Group.

“Stephanie is a welcome addition to our Trial team; her strong appellate experience will be an asset to our clients. We have known Stephanie for years and have worked extensively with her recently on engagements at her prior firm,” said Greg Curry, Chair of the Firm’s Trial Practice Group.

Ms. Nelson focuses her practice on appellate law and litigation, collaborating with trial teams throughout all stages of litigation to address complex legal and procedural issues, including motion practice, evidentiary issues, jury charges, and litigation strategy. She has led appellate teams and presented oral arguments in high-profile appeals in federal and state appellate courts, and has counseled clients in pre-litigation and non-litigation contexts and served as appellate counsel in arbitration proceedings throughout Texas. She represents clients in a variety of market sectors, including energy, manufacturing, retail, and insurance. Ms. Nelson is active in the Dallas community, currently serving as VP, Nominations & Governance for the Dallas Children’s Theater Board of Trustees and as a member of the Appellate Council for the Dallas Bar Association Appellate Section. She previously served as 2004 President of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.

Ms. Nelson received her J.D., cum laude, from Baylor Law School in 1997 and a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin in 1991. Immediately prior to joining the Firm, she was a Partner at Hankinson LLP.
