The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Daniel Murray as an Associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of the Firm’s Dallas office.

“With his patent litigation experience and his commitment to client service, Daniel is a valuable asset to our team and our clients,” says Jane Politz Brandt, Co-Chair of the Firm’s IP Practice Group.

Murray focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and has extensive experience with patent litigation matters. His clients span numerous industries, including telecom/smartphone, medical device, construction hardware, sporting goods, software technologies, and others. He also has significant expertise in negotiating and drafting patent licenses, performing non-infringement and invalidity opinions, prosecuting patents in various arts, patent re-examinations, and trademark disputes. He has handled matters in numerous countries, including Sweden, Britain, Germany, Italy, and Chile.

Murray received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 2007 and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University in 2009. In 2003, Murray graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

He is admitted to practice in Georgia and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Murray worked as a patent litigation-licensing attorney at Blackberry Corporation.
