The Texas trial firm of Deans & Lyons, LLP, is pleased to announce that respected trial and appellate attorney Brian P. Lauten has joined the firm’s Dallas office as a partner.

As a triple board-certified business trial lawyer, Mr. Lauten has represented clients nationwide in cases involving business and commercial disputes, professional liability, fiduciary litigation, contract disputes, legal malpractice, and labor and employment litigation. Mr. Lauten also has handled appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of Texas. Prior to joining Deans & Lyons, he was a named partner in the Dallas firm Sawicki & Lauten, L.L.P.

“We have built a firm that clients know they can turn to when the stakes are highest. And when they do, they expect to be represented by a lawyer who is battle-tested and razor-sharp,” says firm founder Michael P. Lyons. “Brian is exactly that type of attorney. He is an experienced trial lawyer with a résumé full of impressive court wins and expertise in resolving business fights. We are pleased to have an attorney of his caliber join our firm.”

Mr. Lauten holds three board certifications, a rare distinction for a trial attorney. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Civil Trial Law Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification, a distinction earned by less than half of 1 percent of Texas trial lawyers.

He is a member of the invitation-only Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the National Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), which recognize the country’s top-tier trial lawyers. Mr. Lauten serves on the executive committee for ABOTA’s Dallas Chapter. He also is a past president of the advocates board for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and a former member of the board of directors of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.

Deans & Lyons, LLP, has offices in Dallas and Houston and maintains a reputation as one of the state’s premier trial law firms. Its lawyers routinely handle high-stakes cases of all kinds, including business disputes, intellectual property, products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, real estate, securities, and construction cases.
