Nossaman LLP has expanded its Healthcare Practice Group in its Austin office with the addition of prominent healthcare litigation attorney Jody Rudman, who joins the Firm as a Partner. Ms. Rudman joins the Firm after years as a partner in law firm private practice. Prior to private practice, Ms. Rudman served as an Assistant United States Attorney with a significant focus on healthcare fraud cases, a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney, and a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas.

Ms. Rudman has 24 years of experience in federal and state courtrooms across the country, including three trips to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and a case argued to the United States Supreme Court. She has had a broad array of litigation experiences on both sides of the docket. She has tried dozens of cases as a private practice law firm attorney, a federal and state prosecutor, and a federal white collar defense lawyer. She also has significant litigation experience in civil matters; federal class action; ERISA; and health care fraud, enforcement, and abuse. Her zealous representation of civil and criminal clients has led to myriad positive outcomes.

“Jody’s extensive experience—both as a federal prosecutor and a private attorney—will add immediate value for our clients,” said Tom Curtis, Chair of Nossaman’s Healthcare Practice. “We are delighted she is joining the Firm.”

Nossaman’s Healthcare Practice Group concentrates its efforts in the transactional, regulatory, operational, legislative and litigation arenas, and has been perennially ranked by Chambers as one of the leading healthcare groups in the U.S. Over the past several years, the Group has grown its presence with a number of significant additions–including Raja Sekaran, who joined as a Partner in the San Francisco office in April of 2017 and David Balfour and Carlo Coppo, who joined as Partners in the San Diego office in May of 2017.

“Jody is a welcome addition to the Texas office and we are pleased she is coming on board,” added Christine Ryan, the Administrative Partner of Nossaman’s Austin office.

“Nossaman’s reputation in the healthcare sector and its national platform make it an ideal firm for my practice,” said Ms. Rudman. “I look forward to working with the firm’s outstanding team of attorneys to continue to provide premium service to my clients.”

Ms. Rudman earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law and her B.S. from Northwestern University. She is a Director at Large for the Dallas Bar Health Law Section and a lifetime member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is a Texas native and a graduate of The Hockaday School, where she served six years on the Alumnae Board.
