Morgan Lewis today continues its substantial growth in Houston over the last year as it welcomes M&A and corporate partner Sameer V. Mohan. Mr. Mohan, who arrives from another global law firm, expands Morgan Lewis’s services to energy and healthcare clients involved in complex domestic and cross-border transactions.

Also joining Morgan Lewis today from the same firm is litigation partner Geraldine E. Edens, who focuses principally on environmental and administrative law issues but who also works with healthcare clients on complex administrative agency litigation. She will be resident in the firm’s Washington, DC, office.

At Morgan Lewis, both lawyers reunite with former colleagues Donna S. Clark, Gregory Etzel, Susan Feigin Harris, B. Scott McBride, and John Petrelli, all of whom formerly practiced at their previous firm and who were among a high-powered team of healthcare lawyers that joined Morgan Lewis in Houston in November and December. Litigation partner Michelle Pector, who also serves clients in the energy and technology sectors, joined Morgan Lewis in its Houston office last year from the same firm.

Mr. Mohan focuses on advising energy and healthcare clients in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures and has worked closely with the healthcare practice in supporting clients in that industry. Ms. Edens handles compliance and enforcement matters across a number of industries requiring interaction with a variety of government agencies and regulatory bodies.

“Sameer and Geri are an ideal fit for our firm, especially given the significant growth of our healthcare practice in Houston, which is a global hub for the energy industry as well,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Our clients will find in Sameer an excellent partner in advising on their transactions and one who can easily leverage the tremendous resources of our firm. At the same time, Geri’s regulatory experience complements both this healthcare group and our substantial environmental team.”

Mr. Mohan’s work often involves representing public and large private companies, including numerous private equity sponsored ventures, in complex corporate transactions. He handles major capital infrastructure projects and joint ventures, multi-state projects, and transactions involving companies based outside the United States. In addition, Mr. Mohan most recently served as the head of the Houston business and corporate group at his previous firm for the past several years.

“We are excited to welcome Sameer to our growing Houston office,” said Stefanie Moll, managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Houston office. “The fact that he has worked closely with our new healthcare colleagues is a tremendous added benefit for our clients.”
