Morgan Lewis today announced that J. Todd Culwell—a transactional attorney with nearly 20 years of experience advising clients on electric power, LNG and other infrastructure projects—has joined the firm as partner in its energy transactions practice, resident in Houston. He focuses his practice on the development financing, acquisitions and divestitures of energy infrastructure projects in the United States and internationally.

“Todd’s energy infrastructure work has included not only nuclear, coal and gas-fired power projects but also wind, solar and other unconventional power and LNG and oil and gas development projects as well,” noted David Asmus, leader of the Energy Transactions Practice at Morgan Lewis. “The breadth of projects he has handled makes him a perfect fit for our diverse energy transactions practice, both in the US and overseas.”

Mr. Culwell represents clients in connection with conventional and unconventional oil and gas acquisitions, divestitures, and financings, as well as domestic and international infrastructure project development and project financings, including all related project development documentation, as well as general commercial lending and structured financing. He joins a cross-practice energy team that serves clients both domestically and internationally in every sector of the energy market-nuclear and conventional electric power, LNG, oil and gas, and renewable energy-on a broad range of regulatory, corporate, finance, transactional, and litigation matters.

Following a recent announcement by Morgan Lewis of the addition of Martin Stewart-Smith in London beginning on September 1, Mr. Culwell’s arrival reflects the firm’s commitment to continuing its growth as a leading provider of legal services to the energy industry.
