SNR Denton announced today that H. Martin Gibson has joined the firm as a partner in its Energy practice. Gibson was most recently with Patton Boggs. He will reside in Dallas.

“The addition of Martin will deepen our oil and gas practice in the US and further strengthen our cross border abilities throughout our worldwide Energy, Transport and Infrastructure sector focus,” said Clinton A.Vince, head of the Energy, Environment and Resources practice. “Martin’s practice is well respected in Texas, there are very few in the industry who do not know of his abilities in the world of oil and gas.”

Gibson has a transactional energy law practice, with a particular focus on the upstream (exploration and production) activities of independent oil and gas companies and individuals, both domestically and internationally. He represents a broad range of clients involved in oil and gas drilling, exploration, production and distribution. His experience with transactions includes the negotiation and documentation of oil and gas leases for lessors and lessees; exploration and seismic agreements; IADC and AIPN, as well as non-standard forms of onshore and offshore drilling agreements, farmouts, and carried interest transactions, processing and refining agreements; master service agreements (including indemnity and anti-indemnity issues); domestic and international joint operating agreements; production contracts; distribution agreements; coalbed methane gas exploration and production; and a wide range of gas contracting, balancing and transportation issues and financing vehicles. Gibson has a depth of experience in equity and debt financing of oil and gas related entities.

Gibson is a member of the Texas Title Standards Joint Editorial Board, which is responsible for publishing the Texas Title Standards as Title 2 — Appendix in the Texas Property Code. Since 1987, he has also been Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

SNR Denton has been joined by more than 25 lateral partners since the beginning of 2011, he is the second to join the Dallas office.
