Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Michael P. Royal as a shareholder in the firm’s Dallas office. With more than 20 years of labor and employment experience, Royal has built a prominent international, national and regional litigation practice. Prior to joining Littler, he was a partner in the Dallas office of Fisher & Phillips, where he co-founded the International Employment Law Practice Group.

“Mike is an exceptional attorney and is highly respected for his work representing employers on complex and class action litigation matters,” said Dallas Office Managing Shareholder Chip Jones. “His significant cross-border and international law experience is a perfect fit for Littler as we continue to expand our presence on the global stage. We look forward to tapping into his background to further enhance our position as the dominant labor and employment law provider to the global employer community.”

Royal regularly represents multinational companies in a wide variety of labor and employment law matters, including complex multi-party litigation and class actions. Additionally, he represents clients on single-party litigation matters involving claims related to wrongful discharge, whistleblowing, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employment-related torts, trade secrets and noncompetition agreements. Royal also counsels employers on compliance issues with various state and federal employment laws.

“Littler is a global employment and labor law powerhouse and I am excited to be joining such a high caliber team in the Dallas office,” added Royal. “I look forward to utilizing my experience and leveraging my relationships to provide additional capabilities both internationally and domestically.”

In 2014, Royal was named to the International Who’s Who of Management Labour and Employment Lawyers for the fifth consecutive year. He has also been named to The Best Lawyers in America (2012-2014) and BTI’s Client Service All-Star Team (2013).

Active in the legal community, Royal is a member of the American Bar Association, American Employment Law Conference, State Bar of Texas, Oklahoma Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association. He has also written and lectured on a variety of labor and employment issues.
