Lyman Paden, who has more than 34 years of experience in representing borrowers and lenders in a wide range of financings, joined Baker Botts L.L.P. today as a partner in its Corporate Department. He will be based in the firm’s Houston office.

Paden’s primary focus is on commercial lending transactions, with broad experience in negotiating complex financial covenants and with loans involving a wide range of collateral. He has provided counsel to clients in asset securitizations, commercial paper back-up lines, municipal finance transactions and work-outs of troubled transactions.

“Lyman brings a wealth of experience on issues that demand a thorough knowledge of the complexities of the financing needs facing our clients daily,” said Baker Botts Managing Partner Andrew Baker. “Lyman will add depth to our Corporate team in this key practice area for both clients based in Houston and those who have operations served by our global network.”

Paden has been involved in the documentation of a broad range of commercial transactions, including those involving aircraft, and banking and other financing matters.

Paden earned his law degree from Stanford Law School, where he was an editor of the Stanford Journal of International Studies and an Articles Editor of the Stanford Law Review. He is a graduate of Rice University, with undergraduate and Master of Accounting degrees. He has been named one of “The Best Lawyers in America” for banking and finance law, and is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.
