Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes David Guedry, Steven Schortgen, and Erin Turley as partners in its Dallas office, joining the outsourcing, intellectual property litigation, and employee benefits practices, respectively.

Guedry, who arrives at K&L Gates from Jones Day, advises global service providers and multinational customers on complex outsourcing relationships, particularly transactions involving information technology and telecommunications agreements. For nearly 25 years, he has guided leading technology companies, manufacturers, and multinational retailers, as well as human relations and accounting service providers, in developing business strategies and structuring joint ventures, strategic alliances, and distribution and licensing arrangements.

An experienced advisor to a wide range of technology and media sector clients, Schortgen concentrates his practice on high profile, complex intellectual property litigation involving patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret issues. He has served as lead trial counsel for some of the nation’s best known companies in lawsuits involving telecommunications technology, trade secret and contract claims, and disputes over computer hardware, software, and medical devices. Having commercially published software, Schortgen offers particular insight into computer industry litigation, and joins K&L Gates from Baker Botts L.L.P.

Focused on the regulatory requirements of ERISA compliance relating to employee benefits, executive compensation, and employee stock option plans (ESOPs), Turley counsels employers on the design and administration of tax-qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. She regularly advises corporate clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and leveraged buy-outs, and is highly regarded for her counsel in structuring and financing ESOPs using private equity. Turley comes to K&L Gates from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.

“We are thrilled to add such dynamic partners to the Dallas office,” said Craig W. Budner, Administrative Partner of K&L Gates’ Dallas office. “They will provide an excellent foundation for growth as we expand our IP litigation, outsourcing, and employee benefits practices in this region.”
