Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today that seasoned trial and dispute resolution attorney Brian Antweil will join the firm’s Litigation practice as a partner based in Houston.

Antweil has significant experience in energy, oil and gas, business, financial restructuring and technology matters but also represents clients in commercial and tort cases in domestic and international arbitrations as well as insurance coverage and intellectual property disputes. His work in complex commercial litigation strongly complements the array of services Katten offers its many energy clients through its Environmental and Workplace Safety practices.

“Having Brian join our team in Texas adds to the already significant depth and experience there. He has a great marketplace reputation and an impressive ability to understand both the business and legal aspects of issues,” said Katten Chairman Vincent A.F. Sergi.

“I am very excited about the move and look forward to helping Katten build upon the solid foundation it has established in Texas in a very short time,” said Antweil.

Antweil is a popular speaker and writer for bar and other trade and professional organizations and for nearly a decade has taught Trial Advocacy as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center.

Before joining Katten, Antweil was a partner in the Houston office of a large international law firm.

“Katten’s strategy in Texas has been to build on our strong ties with energy companies as we recruit experienced partners with high-stakes practices serving that industry,” said Mark Farley, a nationally recognized authority on environment and workplace safety matters who manages the firm’s Texas offices. “We are very excited to have Brian join the Katten team.”
