June saw some major legal career moves across the Lone Star state, and Austin was no exception.  Here are some of the highlights:

Juan Alcala, formerly of King & Spalding, joins Gardere as partner.  Alcala brings a significant Latin American arbitration and litigation practice to the new legal job.

Baker Botts brings aboard partner Molly Cagle.  Her environmental and water practice is one of the most respected in the country

.

Sedgwick litigation attorneys Laura Prather and Catherine Robb make the move to HayBoo, the former as Partner and latter as Of Counsel.  Prather focuses her practice on media law and litigation, and Robb is a general commercial litigator.

Corporate lawyer Scott Cheskiewicz joins Jackson Walker as a partner and will be based out of both Austin and Dallas.  His practice centers on institutional investors, funds, and M&A.

Sutherland hires Sean Jordan to co-lead their Appellate Practice.  Jordan was serving as the Principal Deputy Solicitor General in the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.
