Robert Kantner has joined global law firm Jones Day as a Trial Practicepartner in the Dallas Office. Mr. Kantner focuses on intellectual propertyand related antitrust and commercial litigation. Many of his cases have involved international legal issues and discovery and other proceedings abroad.

Mr. Kantner’s courtroom experience includes trying 24 cases as lead trial counsel and handling more than 20 preliminary injunction proceedings. He also has handled a number of arbitrations. Mr. Kantner has tried antitrust, contract, copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret cases, primarily for clients in the telecommunications, software, and electronic payment industries. He also has represented law firms accused of malpractice in commercial and intellectual property matters and accounting firms accused of accounting malpractice and fraud.

A graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D., 1980) and the University of Virginia (B.A. with honors, 1977), Mr. Kantner was listed in the 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 editions of The Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Kantner is active in the Dallas community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth and as a member of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations. He was also a member of the Mayor of Dallas’ International Relations Committee.
