Edwin Buffmire rejoins the Litigation group as an associate in the Dallas office. He has worked in federal trial and appellate courts across the country. He has federal jury trial experience, representing a client indicted by the federal government for wire fraud. He has also represented clients in complex civil RICO actions, assisting them in obtaining complete defense verdicts by preparing jury instructions, dispositive motions, and assisting with trial strategy. Mr. Buffmire also has experience arguing white collar criminal sentencing and presenting expert testimony on economic losses.

Mr. Buffmire served as a judicial law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in the chambers of the Honorable Richard R. Clifton. In that role, he analyzed appeals from the federal courts of California, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Hawai’i and developed expertise in class action litigation, white collar crime, and death penalty litigation among a variety of other issues that came before the court in merits panel decisions and en banc proceedings. Prior to that he was an associate in the Litigation group at Jackson Walker.

Mr. Buffmire is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He received his B.A. from Princeton and his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law.
