Experienced corporate insurance attorney Christopher L. Martin has joined the Houston office of Locke Lord as a Partner on the Firm’s Regulatory and Transactional Insurance team. His broad-based corporate insurance experience will boost the Firm’s recognized national insurance practice and also add strength to its insurance capabilities in Texas.

Martin’s experience in corporate and transactional insurance includes commercial transactions, outside general counsel representation, negotiation and preparation of business contracts, emerging business issues, business entity organization and formation, private and preferred equity investments, financing arrangements and private capital raising efforts. He represents borrowers in lending transactions, mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset purchase transactions, sales of businesses, employment matters, executive employment and consulting agreements, non-competition agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, corporate governance and a wide range of regulatory compliance matters.

He started the legal department at HCC Insurance Holdings, a specialty insurance group based in Houston, where he served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He joins Locke Lord from Nathan Sommers Jacobs.
