Continuing its strategic growth in Texas, the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has added two new attorneys in the Houston office and one associate in Dallas. Ronald C. Green, who joins the firm as a shareholder in Houston, brings deep experience in municipal government and finance, most recently serving as Houston City Controller, the city’s independently elected chief financial officer. Kristin H. Agnew, a corporate transactional associate, joins Greenberg Traurig’s Houston office from Porter Hedges LLP. Amanda McKinzie, an associate with litigation experience, joins Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas office from Bowman and Brooke LLP.

Ronald’s deep experience and relationships, and sophisticated understanding of public finance, government law and policy, budgeting and fiscal project management will enable him to serve our clients on a wide range of significant issues,” said Douglas C. Atnipp, co-regional operating shareholder for Texas. “We also welcome associates Kristin and Amanda, who will support our growing corporate and litigation practices in Texas,” Atnipp added.

Green focuses his practice on public finance and government law and policy. His extensive background in government provides him with insight into the needs of clients. Before joining the firm, Green, who has practiced law for 20 years, was elected and served for six years as Houston City Controller, where he acted as the city’s chief financial officer, responsible for ensuring that the assets of the city were properly accounted for and expended in a manner consistent with applicable laws, policies, plans and procedures. Previously, Green was elected to Houston City Council, where he also served for six years with duties which included serving as chairman of the city’s Budget & Fiscal Affairs Committee. Green has served as a board member for the National League of Cities, and is a frequent national speaker on municipal finance issues. Green holds a B.S. from University of Houston, an M.B.A. from University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business, and a J.D. from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Agnew focuses her practice on corporate matters including the negotiation and drafting of credit agreements, deeds of trust, officer certificates and resolutions, as well as other loan documents for real estate financing transactions and acquisition-based lending transactions. She served as a judicial intern for the Hon. David Hittner, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and the Hon. Mark Davidson, MDL Civil Court. Agnew earned a B.A. from Texas A&M University and her J.D., cum laude, from South Texas College of Law.

McKinzie joins the firm as a litigation associate. McKinzie concentrates her practice on products liability, mass tort and commercial litigation with a focus on the motor vehicle, consumer products, and pharmaceutical and medical device industries. McKinzie was selected for the Leadership SBOT Class of 2014 – 2015, as well as the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers 2015 Leadership Class. She earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University and her J.D., summa cum laude, Texas Tech University School of Law.
