Attorney Patrick Garcia, a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Department of Justice in El Paso, Texas, has joined the Houston office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP. He joins as an associate in the Litigation and White Collar Defense practice areas.

Garcia concentrates on white collar criminal litigation and has experience as a federal prosecutor with the Justice Department prosecuting money laundering, wire and mail fraud, corporate tax fraud and bankruptcy litigation cases, as well public corruption investigations and asset forfeiture analysis. Working along the U.S./Mexico border, Garcia completed extraditions, prosecuted crimes involving human and firearm smuggling, immigration, trafficking of narcotics, and oversaw governmental investigations into employer-related worksite enforcements matters.

Garcia was an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps from 1997 to 2001. He holds a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, an M.B.A. from Texas Tech University and a B.B.A. with honors from the University of Houston.
