Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Veronica Lewis and Brian Robison have joined the Dallas office as partners.  Both were previously partners with Vinson & Elkins, where they co-led the firm’s antitrust practice.  Lewis will continue to focus her practice on antitrust and intellectual property issues.  Robison will continue to practice antitrust law with an emphasis on class actions.  Both serve as lead lawyers in a series of consolidated class actions alleging price fixing in the fresh egg and egg product market.”Veronica and Brian are experienced litigators, who will bolster our position as one of the premier antitrust law firms in the world and add important depth to our litigation team in Dallas,” said Ken Doran, Chair and Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn.  “Veronica has significant trial experience in a number of areas, including antitrust and IP.  Brian is highly respected in the Dallas legal community for his expertise in handling antitrust and other complex litigation matters.  Both will be tremendous assets to the firm and to our clients.”

Lewis and Robison will reunite with several former Vinson & Elkins partners who joined Gibson Dunn’s Dallas office earlier this year, including William Dawson, formerly the head of Vinson & Elkins’ litigation and regulatory department; Michael Raiff, who served as Vinson & Elkins’ media practice leader; corporate partners Jeffrey Chapman and Robert Little; and Robert Walters, formerly Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Energy Future Holdings (fka TXU Corp.), who had previously been a litigation partner at Vinson & Elkins.

“In addition to their complex commercial litigation experience, both Veronica and Brian have a strong focus in antitrust law, representing major food producers against claims of price fixing, and served as leaders of the antitrust practice of their former firm,” said Rob Walters, Co-Partner in Charge of the Dallas office.  “Their antitrust backgrounds will fit nicely with Gibson Dunn’s premier antitrust practice and are among the many ways that they complement the firm.”

“Veronica and Brian represent our continued commitment to strategic growth in Texas,” said Karl Nelson, Co-Partner in Charge of the Dallas office.  “Together with our existing partners, they will build upon a powerful nucleus of antitrust and IP litigation expertise in the Dallas office, as well as add to our litigation capabilities firmwide.”

“We are looking forward to working with our new and former colleagues,” said Lewis.  “Gibson Dunn’s litigation platform is top-notch, and the firm has one of the leading antitrust practices in the world.  As such, the firm is an ideal platform for further development of my practice.”
