Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Eric L. Johnson as Of Counsel in the firm’s Dallas office. Mr. Johnson, who serves in the Texas House of Representatives for District 100, covering portions of Dallas and Mesquite, has joined the firm’s Public Law section.

Mr. Johnson has advised several Texas political subdivisions as bond counsel, in addition to consulting financial institutions as underwriter’s counsel. He has also represented borrowers and lenders in syndicated loan and other commercial lending transactions.

“Eric has a winning combination of professional and public service experience that blends perfectly with our clients’ needs,” says Andrews Kurth Partner Rick A. Witte, who co-chairs the firm’s Public Law section. “He is an outstanding addition to our growing practice.”

A member of the Texas House of Representatives since 2010, Mr. Johnson serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources and Vice Chairman of the House Committee on General Investigating and Ethics. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in 1998 before securing his Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton University in 2003. Mr. Johnson earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2003.
