On June 21, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP partner Douglas Glass returned to the firm’s Houston office after a combined 17 years in Moscow and London. Mr. Glass’ principal areas of practice are cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, project development and corporate finance, with a special focus on energy and international matters.

Akin Gump’s Houston office is the home of the firm’s energy and global transactions practice, to which Mr. Glass and more than 100 other attorneys belong. The practice is globally recognized and ranked, with energy experience spanning the value chain from exploration and production activity in oil and gas, power service, supply and equipment manufacturing companies, midstream ventures, transportation, refining and marketing, investor-owned utilities and independent power developers to renewable energy investment.

Mr. Glass’ move is the latest in an ongoing expansion of the practice’s Houston team. Energy industry partner Steve Davis joined the firm in March from Vinson & Elkins LLP, and Steven Otillar joined in May from Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP.
