DLA Piper today announced that Glenn A. Reitman has joined the Corporate and Finance practice as a partner in the Houston office.

Previously a partner at Thompson & Knight LLP, Reitman’s practice includes project finance, structured finance, leveraged buyouts, restructurings and reorganizations, financings in master limited partnership (MLP) transactions, private equity, derivatives and workouts. He counsels US and international financial institutions and borrowers in commercial and real estate finance transactions with a focus on energy, commercial and real estate. Reitman also has significant experience in maritime transactions, including construction, finance, acquisition and divestitures, time and bareboat charters.

Reitman’s energy practice concentrates on the transportation, construction and exploration of crude oil and refined products, finance and derivative transactions. His real estate practice involves representation of regional and national retail tenants, landlords, managers and owners with complex issues in lease negotiations related to the development of hotels, office properties and multi-family homes. Additionally, Reitman works frequently in the chemical industry, where he advises on business matters that include joint ventures, business operations, procurement and transportation.

Reitman is a frequent presenter and has been named to Thomson Reuters’ “Texas Rising Stars” from 2008-2012. He is also active in the Houston community, serving as general counsel of the Houston Food Bank and teaching as an adjunct professor at South Texas College of Law. He earned a J.D., dean’s list,from St. John’s University School of Law and a B.A., dean’s list, from the University of Houston.
