Noted Dallas attorney Laura M. Fontaine has joined the Dallas litigation firm of Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail Shank LLP.

Ms. Fontaine represents plaintiffs and defendants in commercial litigation and bankruptcy proceedings across a wide range of industries, including financial services, banking, insurance and energy. She joins Gruber Hurst as an associate from the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins LLP.

“We are fortunate to have a number of outstanding young attorneys in the firm, and Laura is a skilled and thoughtful business litigator who continues that tradition,” says the firm’s name partner and co-founder G. Michael Gruber.

Ms. Fontaine earned her law degree in 2008 from Harvard Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal. Her legal experience includes representing a number of pro bono clients in immigration proceedings before administrative and judicial authorities. She received her undergraduate degree from Rice University in 2005.

Ms. Fontaine previously served as a clerk for Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in the U.S. District Court for Connecticut, and received her undergraduate degree from Rice University in 2005. She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
