Cox Smith today announced that attorney Jaime Ramón has joined its Dallas office as a shareholder in the firm’s Labor & Employment Law practice. He was previously a partner in K&L Gates’ Dallas office.

Ramón’s practice focuses on labor and employment law and litigation. In addition to his general employment law background, he has significant experience in issues related to federal government contracting and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (“OFCCP”), an area of increasing importance to many businesses. Ramón represents clients in every aspect of the employer/employee relationship, including counsel on Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, EPA, Service Contract Act, OFCCP, wrongful discharge and employment contracts. His experience also includes affirmative action plans and federal, state and municipal government contract compliance issues. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer on employment law policies, practices and legislation.

Ramón has a deep understanding of OFCCP matters as a result of his experience serving as Director of the OFCCP at the U.S. Department of Labor, as General Counsel of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and as Executive Assistant to EEOC Commissioner Tony Gallegos. Recognized by Chambers USA, a prestigious legal guide that compiles rankings of the nation’s best lawyers, for Labor & Employment Law, Ramón is a graduate of The University of Texas and UDC David A. Clarke School of Law.

“Cox Smith’s Dallas office is highly regarded for its experience in a wide variety of corporate law matters, business litigation and bankruptcy,” said Ramón. “Its regional footprint, value proposition, standing and recognition in the legal community and focus on customer service greatly influenced my decision to join the firm, and I look forward to assisting the firm’s clients in their understanding of OFCCP compliance and other employment law related issues.”
