Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated (“Cox Smith”), the largest law firm in San Antonio, today announced that attorneys Maureen Gonima, Erin Jansen, Rachel Skinner and Federico Vielledent have joined the firm’s San Antonio headquarters.

Maureen Strauss Gonima, Senior Counsel, has joined the firm’s real estate practice where she will continue assisting clients with retail and other commercial leasing transactions. In addition to her real estate industry experience, Gonima serves as an Adjunct Professor at San Antonio College where she has taught classes in Contracts, Interviewing and Investigating, Political Science, Family Law, Legal Ethics, Torts and General Law. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s University and the Texas Tech University School of Law. Gonima is also actively involved in the community, most recently serving as vice president of Say Si and a member of the Leadership SAISD inaugural class.

Associate Erin Hamilton Jansen joins the firm’s tax department. Prior to Cox Smith, she worked at a law firm in Austin where she analyzed and prepared estate administration documents, trust administration documents, family settlement agreements, and deeds. She also conducted legal research and wrote research memoranda on various estate administration and tax issues. She received her J.D. degree from Baylor University School of Law and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Associate Rachel Skinner has joined the firm’s litigation practice and assists clients with matters related to business and commercial litigation. Prior to Cox Smith, she served as a judicial intern for Judge Rex Emerson in the 198th Judicial District in Kerrville Texas. A graduate of Baylor University Law School, Skinner attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Associate Federico Vielledent joins Cox Smith’s real estate department where he is focused on representing landlords and tenants of commercial properties, and assisting these clients in negotiating their retail and office space leases. He also works with property owners and developers advising them on general legal matters. Prior to joining Cox Smith, Vielledent specialized in mergers/acquisitions and cross-border transactions for an El Paso law firm. He gained significant experience in cross-border business transactions during his tenure in El Paso and continues to build on this at Cox Smith. Vielledent received his J.D. degree with honors from The University of Texas School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame.
