Barnes & Thornburg LLP has added Mandisa (Mandy) S. Price to the Dallas office as a partner in the Corporate Department. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Price was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.

Price works with private equity firms and public companies involved in complex transactions, including M&A, divestitures and investments. She also advises clients on corporate governance matters, financing transactions and restructurings. Notably, Price played a key role in advising on the General Electric Company’s sale of most of GE Capital’s assets, and in representing the sellers when both the NHL Dallas Stars franchise and MLB Texas Rangers franchise went through their respective bankruptcy and auction proceedings.

“Mandy is widely acknowledged as a rising star in Dallas and she has already completed transactions totaling billions of dollars,” said Dallas Managing Partner Mark Bayer. “She is well known in the private equity space nationally and will play a lead role as we expand that practice.”

Price has been the recipient of many awards and accolades from the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and Texas Lawyer magazine, among others. She most recently was named a recipient of a “40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates” award from the National Bar Association.

Outside of her legal practice, Price is active in the Dallas community, serving on the boards of directors of the Texas Civil Rights Project, the UT McCombs School of Business BBA Advisory Board, TexProtects and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, as well as on the board of trustees of the ChildCare Group.

Price earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was a member of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and her B.B.A. from the University of Texas. She is admitted to practice in Texas and New York. She is the third partner to join the Dallas office in 2017, bringing the total number of attorneys to 15 since the office opened in 2015.
