Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that Gavin E. Hill has joined the firm as a litigation partner in its Dallas office.

Hill advises energy, technology, telecommunications, and other companies, about risks and liabilities associated with a wide range of issues, including contract interpretation and breach, incident investigation, business-related torts and associated regulatory regimes. He also represents companies in complex commercial litigation, including multi-district litigation proceedings involving complex factual, jurisdictional and choice of law issues.

“We are proud to have Gavin join the firm,” said Bracewell Managing Partner Mark C. Evans. “His experience in the courtroom and his knowledge of the energy sector will be a great asset to our Texas clients, as well as those firm-wide.”

One of Hill’s notable cases includes his work on Halliburton’s trial team in the BP oil spill litigation arising out of the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon incident. During the first phase trial, he developed and presented evidence showing the cause of the blowout to be a breach in the casing below the float collar, with which the court ultimately agreed.

Hill received his law degree from University of Virginia School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.
