Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Elizabeth Brandon has joined the firm’s Dallas office as a partner in the Litigation Department.

Brandon has more than 10 years of experience as a litigator focusing on complex commercial litigation. She assists companies, officers and directors with class actions, securities litigation, public M&A, fiduciary duty and corporate governance disputes, and shareholder derivative litigation. Furthermore, she has experience advising on director independence, disclosures, regulatory compliance, and investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Brandon is the tenth attorney to join the firm’s Dallas office since opening in June 2015, and her arrival follows on the heels of corporate attorney John Willding. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Brandon practiced for nearly 11 years in the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins LLP in its complex commercial litigation group.

Active in the legal community, Brandon is a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and Section of Litigation, Women of White Collar Defense Association, Attorneys Serving the Community, and Dallas Bar Association, among others. Brandon also serves on the University of Texas M&A Institute’s planning committee and was named on the Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2015 and 2016. In addition, she is a member of the Women’s Energy Network, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and Leadership Arts-Dallas.

Brandon earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, her M.A. from the University of Texas Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and her B.A. from Texas A&M University. She is admitted to practice in the state of Texas and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.
