Baker Donelson announces the addition of Carter Williams to the Firm’s Houston office.

Mr. Williams joins Baker Donelson as of counsel in the Firm’s Business Litigation Group where he represents multinational energy companies, drilling contractors, oilfield services companies, commodity trading concerns and trade associations in complex commercial and environmental litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country. He was a member of a trial team in the multidistrict litigation resulting from the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill and managed a large portion of the discovery efforts. Mr. Williams also assists clients with internal investigations, crisis management and government investigations and enforcement proceedings involving the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and other federal and state agencies.

A 2004 graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law, Mr. Williams has extensive experience with e-discovery and data retention and assists clients with sensitive cross-border data issues. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, as well as the District of Columbia, Virginia State and Energy Bar Associations.
