Law firm Winstead PC welcomed Ron H. Moss to its Austin Office as a shareholder this week. Moss is working in Winstead’s Energy and Environmental Law Practice Group. He was previously a partner with Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody PC and is Winstead’s 42nd lateral attorney hired firm-wide in 2011.

Moss brings over 20 years of litigation and regulatory experience to Winstead, representing clients in courts and before administrative agencies. His primary practice focuses on utility law, with an emphasis on representing utilities before regulatory commissions and in court. Moss also counsels utility clients with regard to regulatory business decisions and represents them in environmental and business litigation.

“We are very pleased that Ron has joined the Winstead team,” said Tom Hutcheson, chair of Winstead’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group. “His depth and breadth of Public Utility Commission and litigation experience will enhance our already outstanding team of energy and environmental attorneys, both in Austin and firm wide.”

Moss is a frequent speaker and published author on regulatory law and issues involving the Public Utility Commission. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association, Texas Utility Lawyers, and the Gulf Coast Power Association. Listed by his colleagues as a Best Lawyer in America, Moss received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law with high honors.

With the addition of Moss, Winstead continues to add talent and strength to its Energy and Environmental Practice Group, among other areas of law, including commercial litigation, real estate, corporate, and finance and banking. Earlier in the year, the firm hired a well known group of six energy and environmental attorneys in the Fort Worth market, and they also hired two established energy and environmental attorneys in the Houston market. Winstead plans to continue focusing on recruiting in practice areas that benefit its clients.
