Waller, a law firm with one of the nation’s preeminent healthcare departments, announced today it is expanding to Texas with a new office in Austin that will be led by Elizabeth N. (Tony) Pletcher, chief strategy officer; Andrew (Drew) C. Rogers, associate; and Amy L. Herzog, healthcare policy analyst.

“Waller has been exploring the fast-growing Texas healthcare market for some time and we found an opportunity in Austin-one of the most thriving cities in America-that dovetails perfectly with our firm’s strengths,” said John Tishler, chairman of Waller.  “Healthcare will be the primary focus of our office in the Texas capital.  Elizabeth is a proven leader in the regulatory and managed care arenas so we are excited to add her talents, along with our other new colleagues, to a deep healthcare department that we will grow further as we expand our business in Texas.”

Ranked among the nation’s largest healthcare law firms, Waller has played a significant role shaping the healthcare industry.  The firm represents many of the largest publicly traded and privately owned healthcare companies, tax-exempt hospitals and systems and publicly owned hospitals and health systems in the US.

Elizabeth Rogers has extensive experience representing hospitals, physicians, healthcare providers, health plans, insurance carriers, pharmacies, drug manufacturers and employers in a range of healthcare issues, including managed care arrangements, state and federal healthcare initiatives and healthcare regulatory matters.  She has practiced with the Austin office of Vinson & Elkins since 1997.  Elizabeth Rogers currently serves as chair-elect of the Health Law Council of the State Bar of Texas.  She earned her B.A. with high honors and J.D. with honors from the University of Texas.

Pletcher joins Waller after serving as managing partner in the Corpus Christi office of Watts Guerra Craft LLP where his practice focused on complex commercial litigation, oil and gas cases and product liability.  He is also the founder of White Huseman & Pletcher.  He received his B.A. from the University of Houston and his J.D. from St. Mary’s School of Law.

“We are assembling a dynamic team in Austin that will play a major role in the future of Waller,” continued Tishler.  “As well as adding Elizabeth’s leadership to our roster, Tony is a veteran legal mind who, as our chief strategy officer in Austin, will use his experience to not only help Waller grow our clients but also attract new attorneys.”

Drew Rogers will also add strength to Waller’s healthcare team as he brings litigation and healthcare regulatory experience. Drew Rogers received his B.A. from the University of Mississippi and received his J.D. from the Texas Tech School of Law.

Herzog was most recently a healthcare policy analyst at Vinson & Elkins.  Previously, she served as director of the Texas Senate Committee on Health & Human Services and was also a policy analyst for Texas Senator Jane Nelson.  Herzog earned her B.A. from Baylor University and her master’s in public affairs from the University of Texas.
