The Plano law firm of Luna & Luna, LLP, has joined the Amarillo-based Underwood Law Firm, for an expanded presence in the areas of real estate and education law, according to Underwood managing partner Alan Rhodes.

“Uniting with the Underwood Law Firm gives us a larger footprint in education law and expands on our deep real estate expertise with additional claims and litigation capabilities,” said Scott Luna, managing partner of Luna & Luna. The combined firms will retain the name Underwood Law Firm.

In addition to Scott Luna, attorneys in the firm include partner and co-founder Carl Luna, whose practice spans 50 years, and associate David Munden, who joined the firm in 2013.

Rick Lambert, who currently practices education law in Underwood’s Fort Worth office, will join Luna’s team in the Plano office. Both Lambert and Scott Luna serve on the Garland Independent School District Board of Trustees, giving them additional understanding of the needs of school districts from a client perspective.

Luna & Luna has more than 80 years of combined experience in real estate law and operates multi-state units to facilitate mortgage document review, preparation, closing and funding for national mortgage lenders and banks. The firm handles both residential and commercial loans, including FHA, VA, home equity, refinance and jumbo commercial loans, making it well-positioned to navigate complex state and federal compliance issues.

Luna & Luna has broad experience in real estate transactions ranging from acreage to development, new construction to resale and residential to commercial. The firm maintains a presence in Plano, Arlington, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Sugarland and The Woodlands.
