Starr is an influential patent attorney with more than 10 years of experience representing clients in various matters including patent litigation, trials, and appeals involving a wide range of technologies and products including telecommunications, consumer products, computer-implemented healthcare solutions, e-commerce and Internet-based systems and methods, and machinery and industrial components. His background includes assisting clients such as Nike, Sprint, Newell Rubbermaid, ITT Corporations, Leggett & Platt, Feit Electric, Cerner, and other clients.

Starr is a member of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Wisconsin, the past chair of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and a member of the Nebraska Wesleyan University President’s Board of Advisors. Starr received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he served as primary notes editor of the Washington University Law Review, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University.
