National law firm Polsinelli Shughart welcomes health care and commercial litigation attorney Sherri T. Alexander as a shareholder in the firm’s Dallas office. With more than 25 years of experience, Alexander has successfully represented public and private companies in both state and federal courts and before arbitration panels and government agencies.

“Sherri’s experience in complex health care litigation work will be of great value to our clients,” said P. John Brady, the firm’s Health Care Litigation practice area chair. “We are pleased that she is joining our team of seasoned trial counsel and professionals as we continue to expand our health care capabilities in Dallas and nationwide.”

Representing some of the nation’s top hospitals, insurers, physicians and their practice groups, Polsinelli Shughart has become a national leader in health care litigation with attorneys located in Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Phoenix, St. Louis and Washington D.C. Dallas, the firm’s newest office, opened in 2011, but Polsinelli Shughart had held a prior Texas connection with the addition of former Dallas congressman Martin Frost as a shareholder in its Washington D.C. office.

“I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Polsinelli Shughart’s highly recognized health care team and its respected litigation attorneys,” Alexander said. “Dallas is an important health care market and a key part of our firm’s overall strategic growth plan. I am proud and honored to be a part of the effort.”

The arrival of Alexander occurs during a particularly exciting period of growth for Polsinelli Shughart, which recently was named by Inc. Magazine as the fastest-growing, full-service law firm in America.

Before joining Polsinelli Shughart, Alexander was a partner at a Dallas law firm. She has extensive experience litigating complex commercial cases involving antitrust, health care, real estate, employment and shareholder and partnership disputes. Alexander also has successfully represented clients in class action lawsuits involving discrimination and ERISA claims. She also is adept at representing health care facilities in physician peer review matters and medical staff privilege litigation.

Alexander earned her law degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1983 and her B.A degree in Finance from Texas A&M University in 1978. She is a member of the American Bar, Texas Bar and the Dallas Bar associations and a Master of Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Court, where she serves as president-elect and an executive committee member.

Alexander has been selected for inclusion as a Texas Super Lawyer for the past nine years. In 2010, she was named as one of D Magazine’s “Best Women Lawyers in Dallas.”
