The Houston office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Arthur A. Howard as a partner in the firm’s corporate/M&A practice. He joins K&L Gates from Haynes and Boone, LLP.

Howard represents companies in a diverse range of industries, including energy, technology, healthcare, insurance, retail, fashion, entertainment, sports, golf course development, management, and construction. He advises clients on matters such as mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions, securities offerings, development and protection of brands and intellectual property, licensing transactions, restructuring and recapitalization, management-led buyouts, internal investigations, corporate and partnership governance matters, business and joint venture formation, planning, strategic development, and regulatory compliance.

Having served in various leadership capacities for companies in the manufacturing, construction, and financial services industries, Howard blends his experience as a corporate lawyer and former business executive when advising in domestic and international transactions. He represents a broad spectrum of clients, such as start-ups, emerging-growth enterprises, high net-worth investors, and investment groups as well as private and publicly-traded companies.

“We are very pleased to continue to build the corporate practice in our new Houston office with the addition of Arty Howard and the special skills that Arty brings to our firm,” said Eugene C. Pridgen, K&L Gates’ Managing Partner, U.S.

K&L Gates opened its Houston office in February with the hiring of corporate partner Charles Strauss, soon also adding Steven Sparling as an energy partner in both the firm’s Houston and Washington, D.C., offices. Also in February, K&L Gates’ corporate practice was recognized by Mergers & Acquisitions as “Law Firm of the Year” in the magazine’s annual M&A Mid-Market Awards.
