We are pleased to announce the expansion of our practice as Michael F. Vitris has joined the Firm as an Associate in our Austin, Texas office. Mr. Vitris brings experience with a wide range of environmental matters, with a focus on enforcement and litigation, from his service as a Litigation Attorney at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). While at TCEQ, Michael’s responsibilities included:

Representing TCEQ’s Executive Director in enforcement litigation before the Commission and at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
Providing legal counsel to program areas within the agency.
Assisting the Attorney General’s Office with case development.
Advising on rulemakings related to public water systems.
Before joining TCEQ, Michael was an associate in the criminal law practice of a Texas-based law firm, and worked as a policy analyst for Texas Appleseed, a public service law center based in Austin.

“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Texas office, we are delighted to welcome Mike. His experience and familiarity with TCEQ’s environmental programs will provide great value to clients,” said Laura LaValle, Managing Principal of our Austin office.

Mr. Vitris graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2012.
